Griffin Stone is a recurring character on Beverly Hills, 90210. He is portrayed by Casper Van Dien.
Character[]
Griffin is a member of the KEG fraternity with Steve Sanders, who is good-looking, popular and rich. As a KEG guy, he appears to be a party animal and player like the frat has a rep for, but is generally nice to Steve's friends and doesn't come off as sleazy. This changes, however, when he's dating Donna and whisks her off to Santa Catalina Island in a plane as a surprise, but doesn't tell Donna they're staying overnight and she dumps him. He later turns out to be elitist and sexist in the way he treats Donna after they stop dating.
Story[]
Griffin is set up with Donna Martin by her mother, Felice, and his mother, Nanette. Griffin approaches Donna at a KEG party before their blind date and they feel sparks, but Donna is unaware he is the same guy as her blind date. Griffin surprises her when he shows up with his mother, Nanette, and they start dating.[1] However, Griffin soon showed his true colors when he whisked Donna away and tried to seduce her. Donna broke things off with Griffin in order to see Ray Pruit.[2]
From then on, Griffin was seen as a condescending snob, talking down to Ray Pruit and belittling Donna's decision.[3] He started to butt heads with Steve Sanders as they planned a party in a house owned by Stone Realty, Griffin's family business. When the house burned down due to Griffin's negligence[4], legal action was taken against both him and Steve. After Griffin lied about getting permission from his father to use the house, Steve found out that Griffin had stolen the key and the two were given 100 hours of community service and prohibited from organizing parties for two years. After the sentencing, Steve threatened Griffin and he left the KEG house.[5]
